The Art of Raising Hell – In the Beginning

“There are some people who walk on two feet and others like me that run on all four.”

This is the opening line to my new book and the mantra for this blog. Raising hell is an art form, pure, plain and simple. It can be practiced in many forms from running naked through middle of town to super gluing your boss’s favorite pen to his desk. It doesn’t matter whether you’re male, female, or something in between, we all have this inherent desire deep down in our souls to blow off a little steam every once in a while.

Of course, there are those who seem to practice the art more than others. They’re usually the ones that end up six feet underground well before their time. If I accomplish nothing else with these posts, I hope to educate you on the different forms of hell raising, maybe tell a few stories, give you some pointers, introduce you to a few of the characters throughout history who’ve perfected this art and, maybe, if I’m lucky, add a few more years to your life. I don’t profess to be an expert hell raiser myself, but I’ve seen the best in action.

You see, raising hell isn’t so much about a state of mind as it is about attitude. It’s kind of like farting in an elevator. You can either sit back quietly and enjoy the show or be the main attraction. Either way, you’re gonna leave an impression. And that’s what it’s all about, isn’t it? We all want to express our feelings and be remembered in some way or another. Well, if that’s your goal, you’ve come to the right place.

Stay tuned.
